Most consumers will obtain at least two estimates before embarking on a home heating or cooling project. Use this checklist to ensure you are talking to a Mini-Split expert:
- How specialized is your company in mini-split/ductless systems?
- How long have you worked on mini-split installations?
- What will be the results of the in-home assessment? Will it address any insulation or other works required to qualify for rebates?
- Will you calculate the rebates in advance and credit them to the invoice? Can I see a sample invoice?
- What trades, if any, do you subcontract? Electricians?
- Do you handle permits?
- What brand(s) do you offer and why were they selected?
- Is it advisable to add a mini-split to a ducted system?
- What is the installation process and how long will it take?
- What warranties and maintenance are offered?
- When is a mini-split not the right solution?
- Are you familiar with local permit requirements?
- Are you familiar with available rebates?
- Can I speak with a former customer?
